Project Description:
The project involves the development, commercialization and maintenance of IP Multimedia Subsystem(IMS) suite of applications like SIP(Session Initiation Protocol) Stack, SDP(Session Description Protocol), VoIP(Voice over IP), VT(Video Telephony), Presence, IM(Instant Messaging), File Transfer using MSRP, MMS, for Android based targets.
The IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) is a 3GPP standard that works in conjuction with other IETF standards such as SIP/SDP, RTP/RTCP to enable multimedia communication between two or more devices.
· Development, porting of IMS Stack from Embedded Linux Platforms to Android platform, debugging, testing, IOT and commercial launch with operator YTL Malaysia
· Resolving inter-operability issues arising out of IOTs with other 3rd party IMS Servers
· Enhanced the design of the current application to be best-suited for ANDROID platform
· Working at ANDROID Framework level, introduced an ANDROID “service” layer to act as an interface between ANDROID UI and the native IMS Stack layer
· Co-ordinating and guiding ANDROID UI teams to seamlessly interface with the native IMS stack library using JNI libraries
· Developed ANDROID “ContentProvider” component for storing Enhanced PhoneBook(EPB) Contacts retrieved from IMS/XDM Server over the air(OTA)
· Coding for JNI(Java Native Interfaces) layer in C++ and integrating it with ANDROID Service layer
· Design, development and feature enhancement of IMS Application in C programming language
