Prepared a small DoD contracting business for Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) compliance while introducing NIST SP 800-53 Security Controls throughout the company’s IT network to meet recently applied government standards.  

Key Achievements:

       Developed supporting policies to aid the direction of the Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) to synchronize with Risk Management Framework (RMF) principles.

Key Achievements:

          Researched, developed, and implemented expanded course materials for the MSC's Information Systems Security course. Adding Host Based Security System (HBSS) information and components (such as ePO console, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), routers, and switches) for shipboard standard and COMPOSE networks. Expanded Disaster Mitigation Planning and Procedures. Introduced additional Network and Computer Security Measures to complement the newer implementation of technology. Served as both course primary instructor and Subject matter Expert (SME).

          Instructed LAN Administrator's Courses (Classified and Unclassified) for shipboard mariners. Units consisted of all associated equipment from signal receiving equipment to LAN rack (servers, Network Additional Storage (NAS), switches, tape back-up, etc.). Securing LAN networks, including Secure File Transfer Protocols (SSH, SSL) and their correlation with PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) and certificates between the web server and the browser.

          Curriculum covered account management, email Exchange Services, use of Virtual Machines (VMware ESXI), and Support Communications. 

          Personally maintained Training Department infrastructure including; Preformed Retina scans, ensured STIG and IAVA compliance, patching (142 assets in all), and preforming vulnerability remediation. Hardware removal and installations, including a complete relocation of a server racks, fiber optic cabling, and associated hardware components to a new location.   

          Training Department Lead Representative on the DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DICAP) committee. Provided monthly and 'as needed' reports on accreditation progress and POA&M updates.
