Electrical/Controls Engineer
Day to day support of all electrical/controls equipment on the plant floor to manufacture catalytic converters. Designed and added small needed equipment to help improve with manufacturing. Worked extensively with Allen Bradley PLCs (Controllogix5000, SLIC 500, PLC 5) in numerous projects and PLC experiences include modifying, debugging, and troubleshooting of the PLC codes. Examples include:
· Using PID loop function to control glycol flow through valves for tighter barrel temperature control.
· Modified Contollogix 5000 code and reducing cycle time by 31 %
· Modified timing and trigger point of valve control to improve process
· Reduced down time on the saw by adding proximity switch to change chop timing cycle
· Migrated controls program into Microsoft Visual Source Safe controls file for improved protection
· Led a project to add heating jackets control function on the existing PLC using Controllogix5000 and the HMI using NI Lookout. This resulted in reduction of 3 hours of cleaning time on the Vertical Feeder.
