Client:

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company provides diversified insurance products and bulk of its revenue comes from Automobile and Property insurance. Nationwide has a myriad of Legacy IT systems residing on the Mainframes which cater to quoting, policy issuance, and policy servicing of Nationwide’s Property & Casualty insurance customers. Of this large number of systems, there are 23 different systems which support the Personal Property lines of business. It is also one of the Fortune companies.

Project Description:

One Product is a component of Personal Lines Transformation: a multi-year initiative to simplify Nationwide and Allied’s product management, distribution, underwriting, and policy servicing. As a result of the One Product Effort Release 1.2, a single product has been implemented in all channels for each line of personal lines business (standard auto, homeowner, umbrella, tenant, condo, dwelling fire) for IN state where personal lines are currently sold, with the exception of state specific regulatory requirements. As part of Release 2.0, one product functionality a=has been implemented on roll out states AL, TN, IL along with New scope items on IN and as part of Release 3.0 the functionality will be implemented for states OH, WA, VA, SC, TX, OR states by Nov 2017 with few more scope items along with regression on 2.0 states. The scope of this project is making all the systems which are used by IC, EA, NSS agents to one system for identified states and servicing the policies.

One Product will be implemented after Policy Center for Indiana, but will go in with the subsequent PLT releases and will require coordination with the PLT communication and training teams. The scope of this project is making all the systems which are used by IC, EA, NSS agents to one system and servicing the policies.

PLT is major transformation project in which the complete legacy system has been transformed to the product called Guidewire policy center for Umbrella, Auto and property Line of business for IN state. Replicating the legacy system which involves integrating the third parties like ALH (Auto Loss History), CBR (credit bureau report) and MVR (Motor vehicle report) etc., and reporting to the downstream systems like PRI/DWH, Billing applications. One of the major part is integrating with Claims center to get the claims and sending the records to claims center. Complete policy life cycle which handles creating policy and issuing policy by calling all necessary online interfaces .Business workflow in which Exclusive and NSS agents can retrieve the data in their applications and service the policies for customers.
