Description:

        Wyse was officially acquired and became part of Dell on May 25th, 2012. A phased integration approach is being used for integration between Wyse and Dell.  Dell Sales rep are using S&P SKUs to sell Wyse products. The plan of record is to transition from S&P SKUs to Dell normal SKUs in FY15.  Currently, a swivel seat process is being used to keep Affinity ID and Salesforce.Com environment in sync between Wyse and Dell. Orders are then being passed to Wyse for fulfillment and entitlement. Prior to the acquisition, the legacy Wyse order management system processed $374M in annual sales for hardware, software and services.

Weekly WWRUM reporting is managed by multiple sales operations and finance individuals.  The process is manual and requires multiple spreadsheets to be merged with careful attention paid to perform an elimination calculation.   This is done to avoid double counting or revenue, margin and units between sales made through Dell’s DOMS / Gii systems which also show up as sales orders in the legacy Wyse order management system.

This Project is to provide Quotes and Orders data to business users as a file extract which is used in the marketing campaigns. Deals are mapped to Quotes or Orders using the Affinity Party ID and Opportunities created.

Technical architecture involves applying a series of business rules on the Order and Quote data from DDW (Teradata) and after applying cleansing rules, data is loaded to a staging area from where the file extracts are provided to business users. Informatica and Teradata(Fast Export and Fast Load Utilities) are used to extract, transform and to provide data to business.

Description:

 

This is a part of the eDell initiative.  We(EBI) are developing a crosswalk/reference table that links a MyAccount GUID to either an Account Party ID (coming from SFDC data), Person Party ID (coming from Affinity 1.0), or a Dell Customer number (coming from order broker).

This table is going to be used by the Marketing CRM team (Jennifer Vaughn’s team), they will be using their SAS CRM environment to link to this Teradata table to build out what they call “Plays” or offers rolled up to a MyAccount guid.  These plays will be used by the Content Management System/Dell.com to deliver content containing products that are targeted to that particular customer when they are logged onto their My Account on Dell.com.  This is one of the projects under eDell to help personalize our customer’s shopping experience and will help drive sales and encourage our customers to use MyAccount when they are shopping on Dell.com.
