r  Morgan Stanley: Regulatory Reporting and Core processing –August 2016 till date

 

About the project – Regulatory Reporting involves multiple applications covering a wide range of aspects of WM banking like Calculation of multiple parameters for Wm Securities based lending products which are required for the Regulatory Capital calculation purposes, -Creation of synopsis of Wm’s foreign cash and cash equivalent financials for comparative analysis by the Fed against other similar financial entities.

 

Responsibilities and Tasks performed:

Role: Onsite co-ordinator, ETL Datawarehouse specialist and Informatica team Lead

 

·         Managing and co-ordinating around 30+ applications for ETL and distributed plant within the advisory space.

·         Understanding the requirement from Business and translating them into Technical requirements and creating BRDs and related documents.

·         Data mapping and analysis, system design and process orientation to ensure project is well-designed and compliant to audit requirements.

r  Morgan Stanley: Alternative Investments- Global Data Repository- August 2012- July 2016

About the project- Global Data Repository deals with the alternative investment funds within Morgan Stanley. It is the standardized repository storing account, fund, transaction and fee data on day-to day basis the alternative investments like Mutual funds, Private Equity, Hedge funds etc.

The data residing in fund profile system is the master database for GDR while all the processing data resides in Db2, which is populated with the help of informatica jobs.

 

Role - Technical lead and Informatica Developer

Responsibilities:

·         Worked on Informatica Power Center tools- Designer, Repository Manager, Workflow Manager, and Workflow Monitor.

·         Parsed high-level design specification to simple ETL coding and mapping standards.

• Developed complex Informatica mappings to load the data from various sources using different transformations like source qualifier, Look up, expression, aggregator, joiner, filter, rank and router transformations etc.

·         Modified existing mappings for enhancements of new business requirements.

·         Extensively worked with both Connected and Unconnected Lookup Transformations with various lookup caches like Static Cache, Dynamic.

·         Responsible for Performance Tuning at the Mapping Level and session level.

·         Load balancing of ETL processes, database performance tuning and capacity monitoring.

·         Used UNIX to create Parameter files and for real time applications.

·         Monitoring workflows in workflow monitor and providing batch support and helped support team in fixing failures.

Enterprise Data warehouse (EDW) Support and Development provides support and development of underlying data warehouse systems at Morgan Stanley to ensure operational efficiency by supporting and improving the existing systems. This project uses business intelligence tools like Informatica for ETL suite, Business Objects & Actuate for reporting and Teradata for data warehouse. The data marts are on DB2 and Sybase. TCS has complete ownership to maintain, develop and enhance the system as per new user’s requirements.

Responsibilities:

·         Provided 24*7*365 Tier 2 Support for Morgan Stanley EDW applications- Production & QA.

·         Analysis, Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution and Maintain documentation.

·         Monitored ETL applications –Informatica jobs , BO reports, Unix scripts and Teradata Sps for smooth performance and took care of failure recovery and defect resolution, thus ensuring smooth market open.
