IT Technical Operation Manager – 2015-Present

Led a 6 member architecture, engineering and operations team overseeing Ingredion’s global data centers, servers and storage solutions.  Responsible for Ingredion’s 4 global data centers, the global email system, more than 700 Windows, Linux and HPUx servers as well as EMC and IBM storage arrays. 

·         Led Ingredion’s global Infrastructure Center of Excellence (COE) setting standards for system monitoring, KPI metric reporting, and backup/recovery solutions.

·         Developed the global strategy for replacement of Ingredion’s IBM Lotus Notes Domino Email and SameTime instant messaging systems with Microsoft Office 365 Exchange On-line and Skype for Business.

·         Expanded the use of standardized Change Management practices globally as well as developed Ingredion’s 2015/2015 Release Management calendar.

·         Led the 5 year Infrastructure Road Map process for Ingredion IT implementing standard templates and processes.

Director of Workplace Solutions Architecture and Design - 2013-2015

Led a five member architecture and design team for Kellogg’s end user computing platform.  Responsible for Kellogg global technology designs including, but not limited to:  PC’s, laptops, tablets, multi-function printers, smart phones, video conferencing, RF technology along with a full array of accessories.  Headed project designs and implementations of end user collaboration services:  Microsoft Office 365 (email in the cloud), full Lync 2013 functionality, SharePoint and mobile applications.

·         Led the global design and implementation of Kellogg’s PC, printer, and video conferencing refreshes which helped modernize the Kellogg business users while reducing costs related to travel and printing.

·         Directed the global designs and implementation of Office 365, Lync 2013, SharePoint 2007-2013, Yammer, Paas/IaaS mobile application development for Windows Phone 8 and iPhone iOS 7.x – improving business collaboration effectiveness and resulting in IT headcount reductions and the elimination of 28 on-site servers.

Director of IT Application Solutions - SAP ERP Architecture – 2009-2013              

Directed a technical design and development team of 30 direct/indirect reports to deliver Kellogg’s global SAP ERP re-implementation project.  Managed a budget of $39 mm for Accenture development activities and $13 mm for Kellogg infrastructure hardware.  Was the liaison between IT and the business to identify key requirements, develop technical designs, build, test, and deliver SAP ERP solutions:  ECC, SCM, BW, CRM, GRC, BOBJ BI, BOBJ BPC & SAP Enterprise Portal.

·         Led the key requirement gathering with IT, Accenture and the business which fed directly into the technical design.

·         Designed, built, tested and deployed server, SAN disk, software and network infrastructure to support the project’s 26 new SAP landscapes; ensuring proper business continuity/disaster recovery systems were in place and functional.

·         Led SAP role-based security design and implementation which was key to the success of the implementation.

·         Directed the performance and quality testing of the solution prior to production go-live, ensuring the solution would perform under peak conditions and the code was defect free.

·         Recognized for $25 mm in program cost avoidance related to adjustments of the project timeline and activities.

 

Director of IT Application Solutions – WebSphere and SAP ERP Architecture – 2008-2009

Directed the project design and implementation of a WebSphere and SAP ERP Human Capital Management HR solution for Kellogg.  Responsible for managing 20 direct reports with a $9.5 mm budget allocated to code development and infrastructure hardware.  Partnered with Kellogg HR, IBM and SAP to derive requirements and use case scenarios through series of workshops.

·         In partnership with IBM and SAP, implemented SAP HCM (Human Capital Management), integrating HCM and IBM WebSphere creating a Web interface for Employee Self Service and Manager Self Service (ESS and MSS) functionality eliminating an antiquated paper based system.  This allowed Kellogg to reduce HR headcount and provide an efficient, modern interface for all managers and employees.

·         Collaborated with HR business unit to uncover requirements and build the WebSphere portal to meet specifications leveraging focus groups and internal surveys to obtain user insight to provide the best user experience.

·         Directed the performance and quality testing of the solution prior to production go-live, ensuring the solution would perform under peak conditions as well as the code was secure and defect free.

 

Director of IT Governance and Change Management - 2008    

Supervised a 6 member IT Change/Release Management and Governance team and managed the HP ITSM service management solution Kellogg uses to capture scheduled and approved system changes.

·         Leveraged HP IT Service Management product for service desk management, IT systems Change/Release management.

·         Led the successful tactical upgrade of the ITSM system, keeping it at the latest supported level required by HP.

 

Director of Infrastructure Operations - SAP ERP Basis and Database – 2007-2008

Managed 12 direct and indirect reports accountable for overseeing SAP Basis and database infrastructure operations.  Controlled a budget in excess of $8 mm for SAP ERP, Oracle, and Microsoft software maintenance.

·         Ensured the 18 different global, mission critical SAP systems were monitored, maintained and upgraded as required to keep them in support, protecting IT investments.

·         Consolidated more than 120 separate maintenance contracts ensuring they all were co-terminate resulting in ease of budgeting, payment and spend forecasting.

 

Senior Manager of Infrastructure - Wintel Server, Messaging, SAN/Disk and EBR/TAN Systems – 2005-2007              

Managed all aspects of Windows NT/2000/2003 server systems administration, Exchange collaboration services, EMC and HP SAN/Disk Subsystems as well as TAN/Enterprise Backup and Recovery Tape and VTL systems with 10 direct reports.

·         Led the upgrade of Exchange from version 2003 to 2007 to maintain support of the email systems.

·         Managed the migration and consolidation of Wintel and Unix server backup solutions, from a mix of Veritas BackupExec, Windows Backup and HP DataProtector to the latest version of DataProtector leveraging multiple Virtual Tape Libraries.  The result was a standard backup methodology, reduced software solution complexity and ensured company data protection by backing up all 700+ servers overnight.

·         Led the effort to virtualize servers at remote locations, reducing the hardware footprint in the field.  The result was reduced maintenance costs, minimized complexity, and standard backup processes for remote servers.

 

Manager of SAP ERP CRM Application Development – 2004-2005

Managed the SAP CRM Business projects, as well as a team of 5 employees and 5 consultants who were designing, custom coding and supporting the CRM implementation for Kellogg Company globally.
