Responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting and patching 4 DCGS suites that consisted of Enterprise Red Hat Linux Server, Windows 2003 Server, VMware VSX and NetApp appliance. Additionally, responsibilities included maintaining, installing, testing, and training CECOM Software Engineering Center software baselines. Supported systems included ASAS-ASE, ASAS-RWS, ASAS-L, CSP, SMART, ACT-E, ASAS-SS, and ACE BLOCK II, Solaris OS 2.7 and 2.6, Solaris x86, DTW, OPEN/VMS OS 7.1, Oracle/Sqlplus, Netscape, and Windows Server and HTML. Ciber, Inc Fort Gordon, GA Deputy PM, Network Engineer II, JAN 2007 to Sep 2007
As Deputy PM, duties included filling in for the primary Program Manager in his absence by attending meeting, producing reports, providing feedback to the government and managing a team of network, system, cyber security analysts and helpdesk personnel. Duties as Network Engineer II consisted of working as part of the government network team to configure and install Cisco, Allied & 3com switches. Support included a network of over 2000-networked devices in support of the Army’s I3MP system. Assisted engineering the upgrading, reconfiguration and deployment of various Cisco devices that were installed on the Army’s premier communication post to support SSH. As the senior network engineer, with the assistance of the network team, I was responsible for the installation and configuration of an AAA server and SSH for secure cisco login. Coordinated the deployment of the Wireless Intrusion Detection System (WIDS), Access Points and Air Defense Servers. Using What’s up Gold, I was responsible for monitoring the wireless system for vulnerabilities and unauthorized access to networks. Additionally as part of the network team I was responsible for troubleshooting customers’ network connectivity issues. Working in the field, responsibilities included tracing fiber and Ethernet cables for connectivity problems. Using my background in windows, I assisted the deployment and management of SMS 2003 to over 3000 end users. Additional duties included maintaining Active Directory in accordance with military policies and procedures and assisting the Information Assurance team to ensure proper patch management (IAVAs) was being addressed in accordance with A-Cert policies.

As Lead System Administrator I supervised 2 additional system administrators, 15 helpdesk personnel and 20 information maintenance officers (IMOs). Served as part of a migration team that migrated Microsoft Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2003. Monitored, tracked and diagnosed all technical aspects of dual, parallel networks consisting of over 400 clients and 600 users on the US Army’s SIPR and NIPR network. Additional responsibilities included insuring all machines were IAVA compliant and performed updates to virus software and definitions as necessary. Responsible for maintaining system security and data integrity. Monitored the Intrusion Detection Servers (IDS) server for possible security breaches and used Retina and Stat 5/Guardian 6 software to test for system vulnerabilities. Produced reports from scans and conducted weekly training sessions with unit IMOs to provide ways to improve network security. Additionally, Performed daily and weekly back-ups of 10 site systems. Assisted in resolving helpdesk problems and complaints. Trained personnel on active directory, Exchange 2003 and SMS 2003 server. Established secure and non-secure networks in off-site locations by installing and configuring a complete network of servers from the ground up. Worked exclusively with Network Administrators to deploy and configure Cisco switches and 2600 series routers in a multi-system, multi-server LAN/WAN environment. Served as part of the military’s team to integrate the DOD PKI system for Camp Virginia and assisted system administrators in resolving CAC installation, configuration and verification issues.

Responsibilities included managing various contractors, to include construction, labors and technical personnel, to install a wireless network in a multi-site configuration for local state and county governments. Duties included ensuring accurate installation of wireless internet systems, managing the construction of a Network Operations Center (NOC) and installations of wireless radios and antenna in various states among the southeast.
