SAP BW 3.1, BI 7.0, ERP 5.0 (ECC 5.0) EP 7.0 (Federated Portal Network)
Sharp was going through a migration from JD Edwards to SAP at their Mexico site, which would be connected to other SAP system including in USA and Japan etc. Sharp wanted to upgrade their SAP BW 3.1 to SAP BI 7.0 and then add BI java to it and form a federated portal.

· Applied SAP Patches to BW 3.1 as part of prerequisite of BW upgrade.
· Checked the file systems and table spaces to make sure they met the upgrade requirements.

Ticketmaster had just completed upgrade of their SAP SMR system from 4.05b to SRM 5.0. Solution manager was setup as per SAP’s recommendation and had to be used for diagnosis and error reporting software downloading. They wanted to have SAP NetWeaver Administrator(NWA) configured to administer and monitor their systems and Solution Manager Diagnostics SMD setup for Early watch and End2end diagnostics etc.

Fluor had planned to upgrade their R/3 system from 4.05b to ERP 6.0 (ECC 6.0). They were using standalone ITS (6.20) and had customized their ESS to work with ITS and web-dispatchers. To utilize the ESS in the upgraded system they had to implement portal landscape and migrate their ITS to integrated ITS. Solution manager was setup as per SAP’s recommendation and had to be used for diagnosis and error reporting software downloading. Portal transport system had to be defined using CTS+.

Kimbal was in the process of implementing Portal and had to provide access to vendors for processing purchases. They wanted to utilize their existing Microsoft Visual Basic applications without having to recode it, therefore .Net PDK needed to be used.
