Client: Total System Services, Alpharetta, GA                                                              August 2016 to Present

Spark/ Hadoop Developer

Total System Services is a credit card processor, merchant acquirer and bank credit card issuer. This use case for this project is to build a Hadoop DataLake by migrating data from IMS Mainframe systems. Data Pipelines were developed and tested on different Hadoop Distributions like MapR, Cloudera and HortonWorks.

Roles and Responsibilities:

·         Developed multiple POCs using PySpark. Deployed jobs on YARN cluster and compared the performance of Spark SQL with Hive/ Impala and SQL/ Teradata.

·         Developed PIG scripts for source data validation and transformation. Automated data loading into HDFS and PIG for pre-processing the data using Oozie.

·         Created storage with Amazon S3 for storing data. Worked on transferring data from Kafka topic into AWS S3 storage.
