Client: National Grid UK

Client Description: All gas in the UK passes through National Grid’s national transmission system on its way to consumers. As the sole owner and operator of gas transmission infrastructure in the UK, NG work with other companies to ensure that gas is available where and when it’s needed. In the UK, gas leaves the transmission system and enters the distribution networks at high pressure. It is then transported through a number of reducing pressure tiers until it is finally delivered to consumers. There are eight regional distribution networks, four of which are owned by National Grid. I&C Rental Pricing is the NGM’s new pricing strategy for charging customers for Provision, Maintenance and Installation of Metering assets at I&C sites. This pricing strategy is heavily dependent on the Asset hierarchy defined in the Asset Management Work Stream and is based on the pressure tier to which the site is categorized.

Project: NGM- Residential, Industrial & Commercial

Role: SAP ISU Metering Consultant

Duration: May 2014 to May 2015

Responsibilities included:

·         Creation of ‘Assets’ like Meters, converters & regulators along with their characteristics using the Asset Management module in SAP ISU as a part of pre Go-live activity.

·         Modifying parameters for asset characteristics like ‘meter manufacture code’ as per business requirements.

·         Spearheaded optimization exercises for processes for fixing production issues, and improved performance to support huge data transfer during data migration from older system during Go-live.

·         Monitoring Appointment/De-appointments processes to analyze Supplier’s asset at the installation/site.

·         Correcting the asset data by installation/removal, exchange or reversal of the assets at the installation/site.

·         Involved in fixing issues relating to ‘supply scenarios’ by evaluating the logs and running the processes.

·         Manually analyzing the application logs for the various processes to look for issues and fix them.

·         Development & documentation of functional specifications for the new enhancement.

·         Creation of rate categories with respect to different billing classes.

Origin is also Australia’s leading provider of low-carbon products such as Green Power, Green Gas and Solar Photo Voltaic system.

Project : Meter Data Management (Implementation)

Role: SAP ISU Metering Consultant (Onsite)

Duration: March 2012 to April 2014.

Project Description:  Meter Data Management program was implemented to replace an older metering system. It was a customization in the SAP ISU to facilitate receiving, processing & storing of millions of interval meter readings from over 4.3 million customers. The program also managed the inflow/outflow of meter reads to/from ISU and many third party interfaces.

Responsibilities included:

·         Analyze and understand the AS-IS processes and business requirement documents.

·         Designing Business Process Design Documents for the various business requirements.

·         Creation of Functional Specification documents to explain in detail the various processes to be implemented.

·         Creation of business master data, technical master data, metering master data.  Fit-Gap analysis, customization, configuration and modifications activities covering all aspects of the system to suite the client’s standards.

·         Liaising with the development team as they build the different objects for the processes.

·         Raising defects and design issues with the development team for quick fixes.

·         Performing functional testing for the various designed processes.

Project: SAP Support

Role: SAP ISU Billing Consultant

Duration: January 2011 to February 2012

·         Creation of meter reading orders for individual customers.

·         Entering/Correcting meter readings for few customers.

·         Validating and correcting implausible meter reads.
