o Production Support
▪ Shipping issues - Wrote sql queries to pull impacted shipping address orders and send the info to the warehouse to correct the addresses which are waiting for fulfillment and got struck due to wrong address. Proactively went through the different scenarios and issues , identified even before production issue is created and came up with solutions(code fixes and correcting the data).
▪ Worked Front End errors like showing the blank page, showing the full JS error , Ajax call timeout, showing the service output complete xml on the page, page freezes with Spinning wheel, Offers not showing up for the user.
▪ Worked on Backend errors like class case exceptions, null pointer exceptions, out of memory exceptions, index out of bound exceptions, transaction timeout exceptions, shipment issues, tax issues, inventory depletion issues, tax calculation mismatch issues,Dropship issues, Backorder issues, Split Shipment issue, Price mismatch issues on the site, Prepay orders not shipped .
▪ Worked on Database errors like some of the data is not correctly written or missed in transactions. Identified the scenarios and fixed at regular intervals.
▪ Hogging threads – the kibana logs detects the hogging thread count and alerts. In SOA layer multiple web service calls are made that caused the hogging thread.
▪ Among production issues, generate the business impact on each and select the issue to be fixed on priority. Back out plan if fix don’t work.
▪ Thousands of the devices returned to CRTC(Centralized Returns and Testing Center) are not associated to any orders. Generated number of database queries that pulls the report using sqls and sent to warehouse to match. , identified the root cause and fixed the issues as identified. The mismatch report has drastically brought down to very minimal.
▪ Due to discrepancy between legacy and atg application, user tries to complete the incomplete orders placed in legacy system into atg application. Based on the logs and the application flags , identified the issues that caused the issues.
▪ Issues that were not replicating in local environment , for such cases search the logs in QA environment and used that in local to fix it.
▪ Top 20 issues are pulled and prioritized every week , fixed and its impact / improvements are shown to the business.
▪ User training issues – even the application behaves as per requirement the reps are not aware or need further training on the requirements of the applications.
▪ Worked with business users, store sales representatives, different channel owners on production issues.
▪ Sometimes the order of execution of web service calls makes the flow different. By looking at the timestamp of the service calls the issue is identified and fixed.
o Recommendations/demos to business
▪ Based on the scenarios, number of pages to place order and the number of clicks required , recommended the changes that could be eliminated so that the steps to complete the order is minimal.
▪ Used Kibana dashboard for ElasticSearch logs .Query the Kibana logs and based on the top count, the new and uncaught errors are identified regularly and handled on priority.
▪ The loaded page is logged in server logs. This helps in pinpointing where the issue could be.
▪ The unwanted logs are removed which are thrown from multiple channels and causes the memory outage at holiday peak times.
▪ The application properties are regularly applied on any major changes/fixes that in worst case scenarios can be turned off without impacting the enterprise release.
▪ Provided to have one of the jvm to run on debug mode in prod but that jvm is not in rotation. This helps in replicating the issues that are hard to replicate in lower environment.
▪ Record the events that user tries on the application to get the analysis of the events or steps that could lead to an issue.
▪ Impact360 Video is recorded on customer care application for each transaction and this helps in resolving any issues that are not easily replicated.
▪ Call Analyzer to record the webservice request/response xmls.
▪ Perfecto is used to simulate the ipad on the cloud. Helpful to test ipad application without physical ipad.
▪ Recommended some of the areas in the checkout flow that can be eliminated to make check out process quick.
