·         For over 4 months worked as a CGS Technology Associates contractor at Verizon Wireless (VZW) under the Mobile Telephone Activation System (MTAS) Group.

·         Wrote and maintained Groovy+Geb programs that use Selenium to automate the testing of Verizon Wireless' internal MTAS UI provisioning web platform.

·         Wrote Perl scripts to generate customized Java code that perform internal MTAS testing on certain cellphone provisioning scenarios.

Senior Systems Analyst/Programmer

       January 2009 to December 2015

·         For nearly 7 years, worked as a Senior Systems Analyst/Programmer for Verizon Wireless (VZW) under the Mobile Telephone Activation System (MTAS) Group.

·         Was responsible for the maintenance, support, and enhancement of a number of mobile device services provisioning subsystems in Verizon Wireless' Mobile Telephone Activation System (MTAS), the company's major computer system responsible for activating, provisioning, and maintaining all the various mobile device (cellphone and other mobile equipment) services for all the company's customers.

·         Was mainly responsible for maintaining, supporting and adding enhancements to the MTAS  subsystem that handled AAA (Authentication, Authorization, Accounting) 3G-related provisioning of VZW mobile devices. Part of the responsibility involved rewriting the whole subsystem in order to use the latest AAA provisioning API by Amdocs/Bridgewater Systems.

·         Was also responsible for the maintenance, support, enhancement, and in some cases, creation of several smaller MTAS provisioning subsystems dealing with push-to-talk, network extender, call recording, and other mobile device services.

·         Was responsible for removing and cleaning up dozens of obsolete provisioning subsystems from MTAS.

·         Wrote a tool in Perl to generate customized source code in Java or Python that enabled programmers to use the Selenium browser automation API to automate testing of the dozens of web pages contained in MTAS' internal Web-based maintenance and testing system.

·         Wrote a tool in Python that easily allowed users to make URL-related configuration changes in XML files used for some of MTAS' inter-server communications.

·         Wrote a number of job-related tools and utilities in Perl to greatly ease the task of parsing and searching through text files for various purposes (e.g. Korn shell and SQL code generation).

·         Was involved in all various stages and phases of a project, from requirements and impact analysis, design, documentation, coding/construction, testing, production installation, and warranty support.

·         For more than 11 years, worked in Alltel's IT Solutions department, as an IT Consultant from January 2001 - January 2009, and as Senior Systems Analyst/Programmer from April 1998 - January 2001.

·         Coded and was responsible for the MTN (Mobile Telephone Number) Activity portion of the Virtuoso II (VII)-to-VISION billing system Conversion project that converted most Alltel subscribers from Alltel’s billing system to Verizon Wireless’ own version.

·         Worked on a great variety of small-, medium-, and large-scale IT projects both as a systems analyst and programmer.

·         Was involved in all various stages and phases of a project, from requirements and impact analysis, design, documentation, coding/construction, testing, production installation, and warranty support.

·         From April 1998, worked on the maintainance and enhancement of the client/online, middle-ware, and server portions of Alltel’s Virtuoso II customer care and billing system, a system created via Accenture’s Foundation For Cooperative Processing 4GL platform.

·         Helped maintain and enhance Alltel’s TSDA and EVA middleware software, a set of APIs that enable non-Virtuoso II Web-based client systems to call  VII’s server-end database services.

·         Wrote a set of middleware APIs and parser and code-generator programs, based on the XBinder XML parser generator, that generated customized code that allowed XML-based messaging between EVA and the VII services, and any Web-based client system making requests via IBM Websphere MQ Series.

·         Wrote a C parser, written using Unix lex, yacc, and Perl, that parses a C program and creates a function call tree in HTML format, such that the user can see the flow of function calls, and navigate the call tree down to the function definitions using a Web browser.

·         Wrote numerous job-related tools and utilities using Perl.

·         For 6 years worked as a senior programmer consulting for Bottleworks Development Corp. in Malverne, NY.  I coded and maintained Bottleworks' commercial MS DOS-based WYSIWYG User Interface code generator, named SoftCode, and designed and worked on the related database engine templates.
