Intuit QuickBooks, Mountain View CA

·         I am part of Intuit QuickBooks online (QBO) team primarily working on integrating wholesale billing with third-party billing systems. I am responsible for designing and implementing REST apis in Java Spring framework. It involves MySQL as backend data storage and apis are deployed on AWS E2 instance. Apis are using JVM cache to improve performance. Few apis are also pulling data from S3 bucket instead of the database. Used Karate framework to automate api testing.

·         Created highly interactive QBO react.js compnents to use the api response and implemented app checkout experience. Use of state and props to display app pricing and valalidation for different regions and billing status. Used enzyms, chai and mocha to write unit test cases as well as protractor to automate front-end testing automation.

·         Worked on a POC project with both UI in Reactjs and backend AWS piece. UI is tightly integrated to Intuit’s plugin platform and based on Intuit’s internal harmony components for unified look and feel.

·         Team collaboration involves working closely with product development team to understand the requirements and following agile software methodology using JIRA.

Cash America International, Fort Worth TX

Project - Employee Scheduler Web Application

·         I was the lead developer for this application which allows retail store managers to schedule shifts for their employees based on pre-calculated daily suggested hours. I created a “Reporting dashboard” for the operations management team to view the market/district roll-ups and individual shop schedules. This is a major process improvement tool for the operations team and is used daily in more than 1000+ stores.

·         Created a professional and easy to use scheduler user interface using HTML5, AngularJS 1.5 and Bootstrap 3. UI was very clean with vertical navigation bar, recent search items display, calendar controls and login/log out toggle buttons.

·         This web application is also available in Spanish language, I used ng-translate to translate relevant text on the website so stores in Mexico could use it.

·         Used browser’s local storage to keep track of user’s search history and favorite stores.

·         Developed numerous directives, services for separation of concerns and also made sure that code stayed DRY.

·         Used state based routing with UI-Router, form validation and exception handling. Extensively used $http service to interact with REST APIs (GET, POST, PUT and PATCH) along with caching few API requests.

·         Implemented JSON web token authentication using interceptors on the AngularJS side and authentication server in the backend which in turn used active directory to authenticate the store users.

·         Unit tested the controllers, directives and http interaction using ngMock, Jasmine and Karma. I also used ngMockE2E, $httpBackend for backend-less development.

·         Extensively used angular-nvd3 directives to create impressive roll-up dashboard graphs and pie charts.

·         Used Sass in this project for handling CSS efficiently and was processed using gulp.

Project - Cash America Mobile Hybrid App

·         Developing and releasing Cash America hybrid app on Google play store and Apple app store. Primary purpose of this app was to reach out to new customer base and help them search Cash America pre-owned product inventory, store locator and help marketing with promotions and offers.

·         Used AngularJS, CSS3, ionic framework, Cordova plugins like SQLite, in-app browser, Facebook, Google analytics to develop the mobile app. Used phone’s location to create location based store locator and inventory search.

·         Configured and implemented push notification functionality using Urban Airship on both android and iOS platforms.

·         I was responsible for setting-up, versioning, beta testing and releasing the app on both Google play store and Apple app store. I have full understanding of Apple developer/distributions certificates, profiles and services.

·         Worked closely with the QA team who were responsible for testing the app on various devices with different Android and iOS versions.

Project - Search Inventory Responsive Website

·         Responsive mobile first website to search Cash America stores and inventory.

·         Used AngularJS and Bootstrap to create clean and simple UI for the customers to search stores and find pre-owned merchandise. It also allowed customers to filter the search results by price, location and categories.

·         Created few directives like search bar, categories bread crumb. Created separate services to handle api calls and filtering data with some default options.

·         This was a single page web application (SPA) with responsive screen layout. It was mostly fluid and layout shifter pattern which made item search and filtering easy to use as well as view on all device screen sizes.  

·         Used HTML5 geolocation api to identify user’s location and default their geographical search area. They had an option to change the search area by zip code and radius.

Project - eBay Listing Tool for the Retail Stores

·         Developed and integrated internal eBay item listing tool. This allowed our stores to centralize eBay item listing as well as fulfilling the orders in a uniform and timely manner.

·         Used ASP.net web forms, C#, JQuery, LINQ and T-SQL. Extensive use of JQuery in creating interactive UI for our store co-workers to use. Features like drag and drop.
