Jr. Systems Administrator

DESCRIPTION:

Looking for a Jr Systems Administrator. The main function of is to be responsible for system administration of core systems as well as monitoring and repair of high-performance computing systems. Ensures consistent and reliable operation including enterprise servers and network infrastructure.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides wide ranging system administration in a multi-platform environment.

Focus on Windows OS – Desktop and Server -   MAC OS Experience is a plus.

Responsible for general systems administration tasks including system configuration management, OS installations, security updates, and urgent system patching.

Vulnerability management system experience - Tenable / Nessus is a plus -

Heavy focus on patching / Windows Patches / Software Updates.

Writes and implements scripts to automate tasks and PowerShell knowledge.

Ability to identify and troubleshoot hardware components that are problematic.

Troubleshooting Skills are critical.  Being able to connect the dots from diagnostics to problem resolution.

Performs daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, network disruption awareness and predefined key processes.

Monitoring will be desktop endpoints.  Working on ensuring patching is up to date on those endpoints.

Reviews system logs, application logs and security logs.

Able to work with programs - cmtrace to view and read logs.

Prior work in an Enterprise AV / EDR Suite is a plus.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required.

2-4 years’ experience required.

Proven work experience as a system or network administrator.

Past work in Security / Operations / Vulnerability management / Citrix is a plus.
