Project Manager / Engineer

Summary:

The Project Engineer will be responsible for managing and executing IT projects from inception to completion in coordination with sales and the end client. This includes defining project scope, developing project plans, identifying project resources, managing project timelines and ensuring project deliverables meet quality standards. The Project Engineer will work closely with sales and support teams in oversight of and collaboration with the Projects team under the supervision of the Senior Leadership team but may assist with other teams and tasks as outlined below.

Education And Experience »

Prior experience with a Managed Server Provider is highly preferred.

Experience with WatchGuard, Cisco and Aruba networking products a plus.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities »

Thorough knowledge of Microsoft 365 technologies, including Exchange Online, Intune, Teams & Teams telephony, Azure Active Directory, Azure AD DS, Azure networking and server management, etc.

Knowledge of networking and related technologies, with an understanding of switching, VLANs, Wi-Fi, firewalls & policies, etc.

Knowledge of Windows Server (all versions) and server roles like DNS, DHCP, RDS, ADDS, etc.

What You’ll Do / Job Responsibilities:

Define and architect new project scopes, objectives and deliverables in collaboration with the customer/sales team (pre-sales engagement).

Develop project plans, timelines and resource allocation to meet project goals.

Provide general oversight and guidance for all projects to ensure timely progress on all projects, regardless of the engineer assigned to the project.

Project manage and execute some client projects as necessary.

Manage distribution of project tasks, project management and overall flow of projects.

Assist with the implementation of major internal projects, improvements, or new implementations, along with R&D of new solutions.

Manage project execution for projects where you are project manager and monitor progress against project plan.

Develop and maintain project communication with clients and inform them during phases of project(s).

Maintain and update internal documentation as projects progress, for the benefit of internal Help Desk Team.

Inform Help Desk Team when project phases/steps are taken that will affect the intake of customer support requests.

Conduct post-project evaluations to identify opportunities for improvement in processes or solutions.

Availability for on-call/after-hours support or escalation as required.

Assist the Help Desk team with ticket loads get exceptionally high or there is an emergency.
